3D Generalist

Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Full-time

As a 3D Generalist, you will work primarily in 3D Max or Maya and will touch all aspects of our 3D pipeline to create effective and optimized models and materials. Working on both low poly and high poly assets, you have the ability to execute a broad range of tasks, including concept, modeling to scale, UV Mapping, texturing, and implementation to other 3D programs. Knowledge of maneuvering and creating materials in Substance Designer and Painter is a plus. You’re a strong team player but are also able to work independently - taking a project from concept through execution, while ensuring top quality every step of the way.

What we expect.

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience working with Autodesk software.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas in a professional and positive manner
  • Proven ability across multiple disciplines including modeling, texturing, optimizing, and scene organization and implementation.
  • Ability to conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
  • Remain up-to-date with the latest trends, techniques, and technologies
  • Ability to follow approved workflow with tedious stacks of work
  • Maintain or exceed a consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic and able to work as part of a team
  • Strong sense of scale, form, weight and volume
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to improvise as well as having problem solving capabilities with a “solution-driven” attitude
  • Highly organized; strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Knowledge of development workflows, specifically Agile/Scrum
  • Game engine knowledge of Unity and/or Unreal is a plus!
  • Work well in an ever-changing, fast-paced, high-pressure environment that requires meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a group alongside team members including developers, project managers,  creative directors, and clients as well as individually.
  • Great attitude and sense of humour (even if it’s just making yourself laugh). You'll be hard-pressed to find egos around here.

Please note: A Fingerprint/Criminal Record Check and the ability to obtain Security Clearance will be a mandatory requirement for this role.
